The Digital Unify Program is active in Morocco since 2003. Relying on the praiseworthy volunteer work of many ST employees, its activity has been on a steady growth since then.
At present, 26 operational labs exist in Morocco, located at different areas and neighborhoods within the same ciy in Casablanca, Rabat, Kenitra, Taroudant, Rissani, Sidi Moumen, Rachida, Ehajeb, Azrou, Meknes, Sidi Maarouf, Safi, Al Hoceima, Sidi Bennour, Ouarzazate, Beni Mellal, Goulmim, Laayoune, Missour and Meknes.
The important number of labs entailed relying on external trainers, in addiction with continuous support by the ST - DU Team.
This tight-knit team recently developed a solution which enabled reaching a largest catchment area during summer time: having mobile labs.
The ICB course could this way reach unprivileged youngsters living in remote areas of the country, far from the usual labs locations.
The Foundation’s computer literacy course is provided in French and tips and explanations are at times provided by local trainers in Arab.
In April 2013, ST Foundation signed a convention with the Moroccan Ministry of Interior which will enable its employees, along with local communities, to profit from the DU course. Twelve labs will be established in the next 3 years under this agreement.
The convention was signed during the conference that took place in Rabat on the 5th of April to celebrate the 10 years of presence of ST Foundation in the country and the great results of our program.
In order to thank all the trainers that worked with us along the years we distributed certificates of accomplishment, and little gifts to all the team.
DU Morocco has trained over 81’000 people up to Q1Y13.
