Digital divide is becoming more and more an element of division and separation between those people who have access to the new technologies and those who haven’t.
Knowing this STFoundation is trying to give its personal contribution to bridge this gap.
In April 2006 STF has signed an agreement with Fr Ray Foundation, a Thai NGO based in Pattaya whose main scope is to manage an orphanage for street children and a center for disabled people.
The cooperation has brought to the setting up a Computer Training Center for the delivery of computer literacy classes by staff of the Fr. Ray Foundation, within the context of STFoundation’s Digital Unify program.
The Center that has been created is a standard one equipped with: 12 laptops; one printer; one web cam and one scanner.
Students, disabled persons, orphans, staff, their family members, and the local community will be recipients of such computer literacy (Informatics and Computer Basics) classes of the Digital Unify program and they will also benefit from access to the Computer Training Center and the Internet outside course hours.
DU Thailand reached over 1300 students as of December 2011.
