During the month of August, our Tablet for Kids (T4K) Program was successfully conducted in Calamba, Philippines, providing a unique opportunity for ST employees to engage in a meaningful educational activity with their children. The program challenged registered employees to teach their children the T4K course for a total of 20 hours using the provided T4K materials.
The program encouraged students to use tablets for educational purposes, fostering a clear vision for their future careers and sparking interest in science and technology. Participants were required to download educational apps listed in the T4K manual onto their child’s tablet. An online exam was provided for participants who had completed all sessions and provided proof of completion, officially registering them in our system. All students who completed the course received a certificate and a token from us.
The sessions were conducted based on the employee’s availability, typically during rest days or after work hours. This provided a valuable bonding experience for parents and children, combining learning and upskilling in a fun and engaging way. Employees were required to submit photos of each session as evidence of participation.
In addition, we offered a chance for completers to win a brand-new tablet, with one tablet awarded for every 10 graduates. This year, two lucky participants took home a brand-new tablet!
This worthwhile initiative has been sustained for three years since the pandemic and has proven to be incredibly useful. The kids and their parents were glad to receive their certificates and tokens. This program not only enhances educational outcomes but also strengthens family bonds and motivates children to explore the world of science and technology.
