Tablet for Seniors (T4S) is our first project in Singapore!

September is very important for us at the ST Foundation because it marks the launch of our humanitarian operations in Singapore, bringing the total number of countries where we operate to 14. Additionally, this opening coincides with STMicroelectronics’ 55th anniversary in the country and marks another significant commitment to Singapore and the local community.

Recognizing Singapore’s role as a hub of innovation and education, we are committed to addressing the digital divide in certain segments of the local community. The T4S project aims to leverage Singapore’s dynamic environment and strong educational values to empower seniors and other vulnerable groups, ensuring everyone can participate in the digital future.

The T4S program will be conducted at the “Care Corner Active Aging Centres” in Toa Payoh with the goal of reaching thousands of seniors who are socially isolated or have limited access to resources. The pilot phase will run from September 2024 to February 2025, after which feedback will be collected to refine and expand the program. T4S is a vital component of the ST Foundation’s broader Digital Unify program, which aims to empower communities by equipping them with essential technology skills.

Looking ahead, we envision expanding educational programs to reach Singapore’s younger generations as well, with plans to introduce new initiatives, including coding courses, which are crucial in today’s digital age. Coding is not just a valuable skill but a foundational one that enhances problem-solving abilities, fosters creativity, and opens doors to numerous career opportunities in the technology sector. By equipping youth with coding skills, the ST Foundation aims to prepare them for the future workforce and empower them to innovate and contribute to a smarter, more sustainable world.

For these many reasons, we invite local NGOs and potential partners to connect with us to discuss future collaboration opportunities to empower the community, drive meaningful change, and support Singapore’s journey towards a more connected and inclusive society.
