After the Tablet 4 Kids course’s success in Senegal, it was decided to launch it also in Sierra Leone. The pilot test began on September 24, 2018, when 18 students began discovering how to use this unique tool for the first time.
The course was organized at the J.T. Raffel School of Freetown, where Giovanna Bottani trained the first group of teachers for an entire week while teaching the kids (a group of children aged between 9 and 13 years old). The students had the chance to become artists, journalists, tour guides, and party organizers while discovering the best tips for using technology constructively.
Their reactions were positive and enthusiastic. The feedback and suggestions received during the testing phase were embedded in the manual, and now the course is cascaded in several schools of the country.
