ST Foundation Organization
The Board of Directors, composed mainly of current and former STMicroelectronics Corporate Vice Presidents, provides strategic direction and oversight for the Foundation.

In September 2025, we sadly lost Pasquale Pistorio, Founder and Honorary Chairman of the ST Foundation. His vision, passion, and belief in using technology as a force for good have profoundly shaped who we are today. His legacy endures in every initiative that continues to bridge the digital divide and empower people worldwide.

The Board Members bring their expertise and experience to the organization, ensuring the continuity of his values and the evolution of the Foundation’s mission. Pietro Palella has been serving as Chairman of the Board since May 2021, leading with the same sense of purpose and commitment that guided the Foundation from its origins.

Geographical areas are managed by Board Members or ST volunteers officially appointed by the President. This network of dedicated professionals oversees the implementation of the Digital Unify (DU) Program across all intervention areas, providing continuous guidance and support to local partners.

The Board has entrusted the coordination of all operational activities to Giovanna Bottani, Director of Operations, who reports directly to the President and the Board of Directors.

The Foundation’s central mission continues to focus on the regular update and improvement of educational content, ensuring that all programs remain relevant to evolving technologies and the needs of beneficiaries. This vital task is led by skilled volunteers and Board Members, whose expertise is key to the continuous evolution of our learning paths.

ST volunteers remain at the heart of the DU Program’s success. Their contributions—from training instructors and updating the Introduction to Computer Basics manuals to supporting the development of new courses—play a crucial role in expanding the program’s reach and impact.

Our initiatives are realized through a robust and dedicated network of organizations. These partners serve as the operational extension, assisting headquarters with outreach, evaluation, and oversight of potential new collaborations and projects. Working in close coordination with the Geneva offices, their invaluable support enables us to effectively meet the growing demands and needs of our beneficiaries.

ST Foundation policies and procedures
Ensuring the safety of children, adults, and staff in the communities we serve, as well as within our organization, is our top priority. Our activities, from the Introduction to Computer Basics (ICB) courses in Italy to the Tablet for Kids courses in Senegal, are conducted with this commitment to safety in mind.

For over a year, we have dedicated efforts to establish and enforce rigorous standards of conduct to foster a secure environment. We have developed a comprehensive set of policies and procedures designed to shield our beneficiaries from both intentional and unintentional harm or abuse by anyone associated with the ST Foundation.

These policies and procedures, reflecting the highest ethical standards, contain explicit and strict guidelines. They are mandatory for all our staff, volunteers, partners, and key stakeholders to adhere to, ensuring consistent and robust protection across all our operations.
