ST Foundation Organization

The Board of Directors, mainly composed of current and former STMicroelectronics Corporate Vice Presidents, oversees our strategic decisions. Pasquale Pistorio is our Honorary Chairman, being the founder of our Foundation.

The Board Members make their skills and competencies available to the organization, contributing to the continuous enhancement of the Foundation’s mission. Pietro Palella has been chairing the Board since May 2021.

Geographical areas are managed by either Board Members or ST volunteers, who are officially appointed by the President. This group of people directly supervises the Digital Unified (DU) Program developments in the key intervention areas, guaranteeing constant support for the local partners.

The Board has entrusted all operational initiatives to Giovanna Bottani, appointed Director of Operations, who reports directly to the President and the Board of Directors.

The central mission activities revolve around the regular update and improvement of course content. This critical task is managed by skilled volunteers and Board Members who ensure that the educational programs meet the changing needs and trends across different areas of intervention. Their leadership is essential for our continuous development of our learning paths.

ST volunteers are integral to the success of the DU Program, actively engaging in a broad spectrum of initiatives. Their contributions include training DU trainers worldwide, updating the “Introduction to Computer Basics Manuals,” and helping to extend the program’s impact across various intervention areas.

Major functions ensure the professional management of the complex activities, as detailed below:

ST Foundation policies and procedures

Ensuring the safety of children, adults, and staff in the communities we serve, as well as within our organization, is our top priority. Our activities, from the Introduction to Computer Basics (ICB) courses in Italy to the Tablet for Kids courses in Senegal, are conducted with this commitment to safety in mind.

For over a year, we have dedicated efforts to establish and enforce rigorous standards of conduct to foster a secure environment. We have developed a comprehensive set of policies and procedures designed to shield our beneficiaries from both intentional and unintentional harm or abuse by anyone associated with the ST Foundation.

These policies and procedures, reflecting the highest ethical standards, contain explicit and strict guidelines. They are mandatory for all our staff, volunteers, partners, and key stakeholders to adhere to, ensuring consistent and robust protection across all our operations.

Our commitment to safeguarding
When an organization operates in complex environments and interacts closely with children and at-risk beneficiaries, transparency, consistency, and strong moral values are essential to ensure the complete protection of those we come into contact with;
Giovanna Bottani, Director of Operations
