Last August, 30 trainers from our Digital Unify Program gathered for a comprehensive training session in the city of Gitega, Burundi. They united to enhance their skills, marking a fundamental step towards advancing digital literacy and fostering inclusion across the entire country. Their commitment and teamwork are paving the way for a brighter, more connected future.
During the training, we reviewed and refined several critical aspects of our program:
- Learning-by-doing methodology: we emphasized the hands-on approach to delivering the ICB (Introduction to Computer Basics) course. This methodology ensures that learners not only understand theoretical concepts but also gain practical skills that they can apply in real-world scenarios.
- Monthly planning and execution: effective planning is key to the success of any educational program. We discussed strategies for creating detailed monthly plans and executing them efficiently. This includes setting clear objectives, allocating resources, and monitoring progress to ensure that we stay on track.
- Management of Digital Unify Centers: The smooth operation of our Digital Unify centers is crucial for providing a productive learning environment. We covered best practices for managing these centers, including maintaining equipment, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and addressing logistical challenges that may arise.
- Maintenance of attendance lists: keeping accurate attendance records is essential for tracking learner progress and program impact. We provided guidelines on how to accurately maintain these lists, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Utilization of our online reporting system: a powerful resource for our trainers. We conducted hands-on sessions to familiarize them with the platform’s features, enabling them to leverage its capabilities for course delivery, learner assessment, and program management.
The primary purpose of this training was to sharpen the skills of our trainers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to deliver high-quality educational courses and support learners. By enhancing their skills, we aim to improve performance in both the quality and quantity of ICB courses offered.
The training was immensely beneficial to all participants. Trainers left with renewed confidence and a deeper understanding of their roles. They are now better prepared to tackle the challenges of digital education and are committed to delivering exceptional results.
