STEM education at Lycée Ibn Mandour in Morocco

Farah Arron, ST Fondation Country Manager, Morocco – inaugurating the Lab

Last December, Lycée Ibn Mandour in Casablanca celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of its brand-new STEM lab.  STMicroelectronics contributed with refurbished PCs and programming boards, while our volunteers did the rest, setting up the lab to be ready for educational courses.

The inauguration ceremony was a vibrant gathering that brought together ST Bouskoura volunteers, our managers, the school staff, and esteemed representatives from the Ministry of National Education and the Academy.

“At ST Foundation in Morocco, we believe that empowering students with STEM education is key to preparing them for the future. This initiative, in collaboration with STMicroelectronics, is more than just a lab — it’s about providing students with real, hands-on learning experiences that will shape their careers in technology and innovation », commented Farah Arron, ST Foundation Country Manager in Morocco while signing the agreement.

The new STEM lab at Lycée Ibn Mandour is now fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and boasts a colorful, engaging environment designed to inspire and motivate students. The ST engineers developed a selection test to identify students with a basic understanding of coding principles, problem-solving, and algorithm fundamentals and proposed a competition, where teams of students developed amazing projects and presented them to a jury.

From ST donating the equipment, to our volunteers who contributed their time and expertise, to the school staff who supported the project, to conclude with the representatives from the Ministry and the Academy who recognized its importance – this achievement is a collective success. Together, we are building a brighter future for education in Casablanca.
