Mamtha: breaking barriers and building a brighter future

Mamtha: breaking barriers and building a brighter future

Mamtha, a 20-year-old from New Delhi, grew up in a family of seven, including her grandparents. Her father, a farmer, was the only one to work in the family, making it challenging to meet the needs of such a large household. Despite the hardships, Mamtha dreamed of helping her family achieve financial stability.

In July 2024, Mamtha enrolled in the Cargo & Logistics/Information Basic Computer course offered by GMR Varalakshmi Foundation, a 90-day program supported by us. Initially shy and hesitant, Mamtha gradually gained confidence and became a strong, determined individual. The training equipped her with essential skills, including digital literacy, which played a crucial role in advancing her career.

Upon completing the course in September 2024, Mamtha secured a position at the airport. Her dedication to learning and adapting to company policies has made her a valued employee. Mamtha truly embodies the saying, “A woman’s best protection is a little money of her own.” Today, she is financially independent, supports her family, and looks forward to a bright and promising future.

Mamtha’s success story is a testament to the power of collaboration between two Foundations rooted in the values of their respective companies, united by a shared vision of empowering communities. Our partnership with GMR Varalakshmi Foundation goes beyond collaboration—it is a union built on shared values, mutual respect, and a steadfast commitment to driving meaningful and lasting change.

Deeply rooted in their parent companies’ ethos of corporate social responsibility, both Foundations have combined their expertise and resources to create impactful programs like the one Mamtha attended. This collaboration leverages the strengths of both organizations: GMRVF brings its deep understanding of grassroots needs and experience in skill development, while we contribute expertise in digital education and a shared passion for empowering individuals.

Together, we have created opportunities for hundreds of young individuals like Mamtha, providing them with the skills and confidence to face the challenges of the modern workforce. By aligning our goals and pooling our resources, we ensure that the programs we support are not only effective but also sustainable, creating long-term impact in the communities we serve.
