Marie Françoise – A new recipe for self-employment
When Marie Françoise arrived in Morocco in 2010, she brought with her a passion for cooking and the hope of building a new life. She worked in the restaurant industry for five years, with dedication and determination. But something wasn’t quite right. She felt it was time for a change. She wanted something of her own, something that could grow with her.
That’s how the idea of starting her own business was born. Together with two friends, she shared dreams, risks, small victories, and eventually, the first difficulties. As is often the case, something gave way. The two friends stepped back, but Marie Françoise chose to stay. To hold on and keep going.
It wasn’t easy. But her persistence found an ally: one day, through a friend, she discovered the ES.Maroc project, supported by the ST Foundation. After an interview, she was accepted into a training course that gave her tools, confidence, and new skills.
“I already knew a little about computers,” she says, “but that’s where I truly learned everything I needed to work independently today.”
Today, Marie Françoise independently manages all the digital aspects of her work: she writes emails, prepares documents, and navigates with confidence in a world that once felt out of reach. The training not only taught her how to use a computer, but it also gave her the strength to start working again. To begin once more, but this time with new allies and new tools.
“I can never thank them enough,” she says. “I recommend this training to everyone I meet. It’s truly effective. It gives you the feeling that you can succeed.” And today, Marie Françoise is doing just that.
With her hands. With her mind. With her heart.
