Morocco Ceremony, May 7th, 2015

Morocco Ceremony
On May 7th, 2015, the ST Foundation celebrated its 100,000th Moroccan beneficiary through its society-empowering Digital Unify (DU) Program at the ST site of Bouskoura.

This important milestone was achieved by expanding the initiative to 43 cities and smaller villages, covering 16 regions across Morocco, making the country one of the most active and successful in the Program.

This achievement was made possible thanks to our key supporters:

  • Primarily, STMicroelectronics that not only provided the initial financing for the Foundation but also furnished most of the labs’ material and encouraged its employees to participate in the Foundation’s activities. The fruits of all their efforts can be physically seen in the newly renovated “Idriss 1st” lab, in Bouskoura, near Casablanca.
  • All the organizations, schools, municipalities, public organizations with whom the ST Foundation had signed partnership agreements.
  • The over 350 trainers, who had been working since the beginning of the Program.

The ST Foundation decided to organize a special ceremony to celebrate the over 100,000 people trained in Morocco and thank all the key players who made this achievement possible. The ST Foundation’s Directors, Pietro Fox and Patrice Chastagner welcomed the guests, and they presented the Foundation’s ongoing activities and exciting future plans. The ceremony ended with a special recognition for those key actors, trainers, partners, and ST volunteers, without whom none of it would have been possible and who helped materialize the Foundation’s mission.

A special exhibition accompanied the whole event to show the key steps of the Foundation’s presence in the country.
