A journey transformed: Ibrahima’s path to digital fluency
Ibrahima D. is a remarkable 16-year-old from Guinea Conakry, whose journey embodies resilience and a passion for learning. At just 14 years old, Ibrahima left his home country and traveled alone through Senegal. In December 2024, he arrived in Spain and stayed there for about a month before continuing his journey to France, where he reached Paris on January 27, 2025. Shortly after arriving in France, Ibrahima was transferred to Tours to continue his studies.
He started his schooling joining the 9th grade, and has since achieved his diploma “with honors It was just before the summer school holidays that Ibrahima expressed a desire to take computer courses, in order to prepare for entering vocational high school in September. This wish led him to our ICB workshop He learned about it thanks to Madame Nadia Safi, an educator at “Entraide et Solidarités“, an association dedicated to unaccompanied minors in France.
Despite joining, exceptionally, the training three days late, Ibrahima quickly caught up and fully committed to the experience. Ibrahima has gained significant benefits from the training, especially since he “didn’t know much” about computing before. Previously, working on school presentations assigned by his teachers was a very challenging and “exhausted him a lot”. However, thanks to this training, Ibrahima has now learned how to use Word and, importantly, Excel. His favorite part of the course was learning how to create CVs using Word.
The training is now over, and Ibrahima is filled with gratitude. He sincerely thanks the trainers and everyone who made this valuable educational opportunity possible. He emphasizes the invaluable nature of this “gift”, especially since access to such training, especially for free, is not something everyone receives.
