One training, a transformed future
At just 22 years old, Abdourahmane, a resident of Guédiawaye on the outskirts of Dakar, embodies perseverance and a deep desire to learn. His path has not been linear, but it proves that determination can open doors even when obstacles seem overwhelming.
Forced to interrupt his education during his final year of high school, Abdourahmane was unable to sit for the baccalaureate due to administrative issues linked to his nationality, circumstances entirely beyond his control. A situation that could have limited his ambitions but instead strengthened his resolve.
Passionate about the profession of freight forwarding, he secured an internship at the Port of Dakar with the help of a relative. Rapidly, he realized that digital skills were essential to grow in this strategic sector. At that time, however, his interaction with computers was limited to watching movies at a friend’s house, as he could not afford his own device.
Determined to move forward, Abdourahmane enrolled in one of our computer training courses. This encounter marked a decisive turning point. Through the introductory courses, he gained not only technical skills but a new sense of confidence and possibility.
He learned to use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, transforming the computer into a real working tool. Today, as a freight forwarder, he uses digital tools daily to organize files, save time and improve the quality of his work.
More than that, Abdourahmane has become a resource person in his professional environment. He now supports colleagues, including customs officers, who struggle with digital tools. From learner to mentor, he actively shares his knowledge with others.
As a former student of the ST Foundation, Abdourahmane fully recognizes the impact this training has had on his life. It allowed him to believe in his abilities and to look to the future with confidence and ambition.
“We live in a world where everything is digital. Mastering these tools is not a luxury, but a necessity in everyday life and work. Digital skills are not reserved for IT professionals; they are essential for anyone who wants to grow, adapt, and build a future.”
