Bridging the digital divide: 2025 summer camps empower Moroccan youth
Once again this summer, we joined forces with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and several local partners to bring our Digital Unify Program to summer camps across Morocco. As part of this initiative, the “Introduction to Computer Basics” (ICB) courses were offered free of charge to children from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them discover the fundamentals of digital technology.
Last July and August, a total of 9,302 young participants took part in the ICB training sessions held in 17 cities, including Tétouan, El Jadida, Laayoune, Safi, Kenitra, Nador, Tanger, Casablanca, and Taounate. The program was delivered through 28 temporary digital labs, with the support of 35 trainers, including 16 external instructors who reinforced the teams in the field.
Participants were introduced to computers and networks, learned how to use essential software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and gained confidence in applying these new skills to everyday life.
Trainers also noted the children’s enthusiasm and curiosity. “They were eager to learn, and their motivation grew day by day,” shared Btissam AZIZI, one of the trainers. “Seeing their progress and excitement reminded us how crucial digital education is at this age.”
The success of this season reflects the value of strong partnerships with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and local associations that made the activities possible across the country.
