The Tablets for Kids program brought digital learning to our remote village, giving children practical skills and boosting their interest in digital learning. It was a transformative experience for both the students and me as an instructor!
Dularam Kapaya is a trainer and instructor in Kada Holi, a small village in the Udaipur District of Rajasthan, India. Recently, he participated in our Tablet for Kids (T4K) project, alongside his other colleagues, teaching 30 children from the community and 17 students from the Shiksha Kendra education center. This center is managed by Seva Mandir, our local partner supporting the deployment of this project.
Before implementing this program, Dularam received online training from our trainers to familiarize himself with the use of tablets and the course content. When the time came to conduct the training locally, he was ready and happy to see this little miracle takes its shape, as reflected in the enthusiasm from the kids for the proposed activities.
The program covered essential subjects such as using cameras and photography, designing invitation cards, painting and drawing, mathematics, and language, all taught through interactive and engaging digital content. The use of tablets significantly enhanced the learning experience for the children. This program not only benefited the kids but indirectly all their families, as the children shared their newfound knowledge with them.
“As an instructor, I was happy to see the curiosity and joy on the children’s faces as they learned through this innovative approach. Despite the limited resources in our village, this program was a little miracle in our community. I sincerely hope that such initiatives will continue over time, as I strongly believe they can have a profound impact on our children’s development,” Dularam said.
