In parallel with the activities carried out in Lombardy , we decided to activate a dedicated project in Sicily. Following this idea, we partnered with CIAI to support the #tu6prof project with the aim of contributing to creating an engaging school model that involves and stimulates students, teachers, and communities through the use of innovative methods and tools.
Of course, in a COVID-19 scenario, every approach had to consider the students’ rights to access the Internet and PCs to follow all online classes.
With this project, we concentrated our efforts in Palermo with the following goals: renewing teaching approaches from a more interactive and inclusive perspective through the creation of dedicated e-learning resources, fighting digital illiteracy, which is considered a highly discriminatory element, and helping students acquire new ways of learning through digital laboratories.
The results of the initiatives are the creation of specific video tutorials, the creation and donation of a dedicated e-learning platform, strong engagement of our volunteers who were involved in the different phases of the project, and setting up the computer classroom at ITC Amari Roncalli in Palermo.
